Welcome to our scaling up in web archiving series of webinars.

This 5-minute overview follows our getting started series. It is for those with a basic understanding of web archiving and explores options in scaling your web archiving work, developing a web archiving policy, managing your programme and additional sources of CPD. The training facilitator is Kirsty Fife, Lecturer in Digital Information and Curatorial Practice at MMU and a practitioner with over a decade of experience working in the UK archive sector.

Scaling up in web archiving presentation 1: Exploring options

This first session starts with a refresher of the web archiving life-cycle model. We then explore options for starting your web archiving programme, operational models, tools, portals and software, making a case for resources and managing expectations. Length: 27 minutes

Scaling up in web archiving presentation 2: Developing a web archiving policy

The next session considers how you might develop your web archiving policy. We will consider what scoping work should be completed, goals and objectives, research and consultation, governance, resourcing (staff, training, budget, etc) and finalising your policy. Length: 21 minutes

Scaling up in web archiving presentation 3: Managing your programme

You’ve a successful case for resource, established a web archiving programme and developed a web archiving policy. This session takes you through the process to manage your programme. Length 29 minutes

Scaling up in web archiving presentation 4

This final session explores ways to continue your developing practice in web archiving. Length: 7 minutes.
