The Archives & Records Association of the United Kingdom & Ireland presents a discussion with Avril Belfon, Forget Chaterera-Zambuko, and Njörður Sigurðsson on migrated archives and repatriation. Archival repatriation remains a widely discussed issue, with many cases still unresolved around the world. Disputes over archival repatriation have arisen where custody, ownership, and access are unclear or contested. This may result from war, military occupation, the succession of states, or other adverse events. The panel will explore these issues from a broad perspective and discuss how archivists can redress the historical displacement of documents with sensitivity.
