In this ARA and Naomi Korn Associates webinar, expert speaker Jess Pembroke gives practical steps for embedding privacy and security in your systems. This session will guide attendees through the data protection and security considerations when purchasing software and third‑party products, covering due diligence, contracts and ongoing assurance. Ideal for archivists, records managers, procurement leads and data protection officers who commission or use digital tools and services.
Webinar learning outcomes
Identify common privacy, security, and contractual risks associated with software
Understand data processor and controller roles, and how liability and breaches affect them
Consider due diligence questions and processes
Assess data protection requirements: roles (controller/processor), UK GDPR lawful bases, DPIAs, international transfers (SCCs/IDTA), and sub‑processors
Receive guidance on reviewing data processing and cyber clauses and addressing any gaps
The webinar will conclude with a 10-minute Q&A segment, providing you with the opportunity to ask questions or seek clarification.
