Call for expressions of interest from web-designers/developers for a careers hub
The UK National Archives and the Archives and Records Association UK & Ireland (ARA) are working together to create a stand-alone web-based careers hub*.
The hub will bring together information already created by the UK National Archives and ARA that supports careers progression, CPD, advice for employers, etc. The hub will also host a free to post and use jobs board.
We are looking for a web-designer/developer to design and build the basic framework of the website into which we will then add existing content and develop new content on an ongoing basis.
We have already consulted on and developed a basic set of wire frames.
Design for the careers hub will need to reflect the existing branding of both the UK National Archives and ARA but also be a stand-alone identity in itself.
The jobs board will be a key feature of the careers hub and should be a simple, user-friendly design so that employers can register and then post jobs to the board – using a form – and that posting is then moderated from the back-end by ARA Staff. The Arts Job board here is an example of this: https://www.artsjobs.org.uk/jobs. We would also like to be able to download from the back end spreadsheets of jobs posted to enable us to analyse workforce trends.
The careers hub website would need to be:
enabled with full google analytics
meet accessibility standards
mobile optimised
It will host a variety of media including video, photo, audio and documents (pdf, word, excel).
We have a budget for this project, which we believe is adequate to achieve our vision, of c.£10,000
In the first instance please email deborah.mason@archives.org.uk for a full brief and information on budget and timelines.
*We would also consider the option of a white label sub-domain of the archives.org.uk site if this was possible within the scope of using Squarespace as the CMS.
