Take part in the 2022 Survey of Visitors to UK archives
We are delighted to announce that the next survey of visitors to UK archives will take place in autumn 2022.
The visitors’ survey is an excellent means of obtaining feedback from those using on-site services. Respondents feedback on the reasons for their visit, their views on the services received and complete a section on themselves. The data is used to generate a national profile of the users of archives, why they are being used and the quality of services provided. This is valuable data for the sector and helps to determine future plans and priorities and to advocate on behalf of the sector. Individual services can use their results to understand their user profile, and to identify areas of strength and improvement following feedback.
Changes and improvements have been made to the process this year to ensure the survey is up to date and generates helpful data, and also to provide an electronic version to offer more choice and to help increase response rates.
The questions have been reviewed to ensure that they reflect the services provided, and revised to capture some changes in services since Covid-19. We will also be introducing an electronic option for completing surveys, for those who do not have time to complete a survey onsite or who prefer to complete forms electronically.
The 2022 survey will run from run from Monday, 3 October to Sunday 4 December, a total of 9 weeks. Archives can elect to run the survey for the entirety of this period however the minimum requirement is one week.
