Notice of AGM and Presentation on Collections Emergency Planning & Response, 4 June 2025
Speaker: Elena Lewendon, Chief Operating Officer of Falklands Maritime Heritage Trust
Wednesday 4th June, 2pm to 3.30pm, Online (Microsoft Teams)
The Section for Archives and Museums (SAM) are pleased to bring you our AGM programme for 2025. We would love you to join us online at 2pm-3.30pm to review our activities during 2024/25, discuss what we are planning for the coming year, and to launch the output of the Glossary Project. The Glossary Project commenced in October 2022 and the Committee are excited to share the result.
The AGM will be held online via Teams at 2.00pm (BST) on Wednesday 4 June 2025 and will form part of a wider training event, focusing on Collections Emergency Planning and Response. This 45-minute session will draw on the lived experience of Elena Lewendon, who as CEO of the Apsley Paper Trail Trust in 2022 responded with her team to a fire at historic Frogmore Paper Mill. The fire resulted in the destruction over 700 square metres of museum space, as well as the education suite, staff offices, shop, cafe, art gallery and visitor facilities. Elena will discuss how her team activated their emergency procedures and share personal lessons learnt from this incident have enabled her to improve and better inform future emergency planning procedures and documentation.
For each element of the AGM Programme, there will be opportunities to take questions from attendees, as well as suggesting questions in advance via our social media pages or by emailing us directly.
The session will be chaired by SAM’s outgoing Chair, Chloe Anderson-Wheatley.
