Do you ever feel there are not enough hours in the day? This practical course will help you understand what is getting in the way of effective time management and give you the tools and strategies to take back control. Explore how to identify time thieves, improve planning, organise your information and working environment, manage competing demands, and develop habits that help you make the most of your time. You will leave with a clearer understanding of your current approach and practical techniques you can apply immediately in the workplace.

Whether you are new to time management or looking to refine your approach, this course will help you develop practical skills to manage your time more effectively. It is suitable for all staff, volunteers and those working in community settings across the recordkeeping, libraries, museums and the wider heritage sector. The course will focus on:

  • What is time management and how do I benefit?

  • What’s holding you back from being a better time manager

  • The Time Management Toolbox

  • Manage yourself

Key learning outcomes

  • Understanding the nature of time management and why it matters

  • Understanding your own use of time currently and your current time management skills

  • Identifying what undermines your current time management

  • Learning tools and strategies to improve your time management

About our trainer: Elizabeth Oxborrow-Cowan MSc FARA is a highly experienced senior professional archivist and qualified management consultant with extensive experience across all elements of the UK archive sector.
