Community Archives and Heritage Group Awards on Zoom

The winners of the 2021 CAHG Awards will be announced at this special online Zoom event.

This is your opportunity to support this vital part of the Archives and Records sector

These awards are an opportunity for the archives and records sector to acknowledge the work of the many community archive and heritage groups across the UK. These organisations are often the public face of the sector working with local people both as volunteers and participants on both long and short-term projects.  These engagements are key in creating a body of advocates within the population who can tell others of the value of archives, records and the organisations that keep them.

Each year the awards attract entries that exemplify the dedication, innovation and expertise of community archive and heritage groups across the UK, this year was no exception.  The winners in categories for Community Engagement, Gathering and Preserving Heritage and Contribution to Wellbeing, plus the overall winning group as the Best Community Archive and Heritage Group 2021 will be announced on 27th October at the online event and each winning group will make a presentation.  Covering very different types of group and archive, and with particular themes in line with the award categories, these presentations will make for a fascinating evening with something of interest for everyone.

Last year’s award-winning group, Kirklees Local TV has collaborated with CAHG to create a short film that reflects on and highlights the work of CAHG and this will be premiered at the event on 27th October.

Do join us for free at this unmissable event! Booking is available here.
