Vacancy for a Research Representative on ARA’s Section for Archives and Technology
ARA’s Section for Archives and Technology (SAT) is looking for a new Research Representative to join its friendly committee to offer their insights from an academic/research perspective.
The Research Representative keeps the SAT committee informed about developments in archival technologies, builds and maintains links with academic researchers working on relevant topics at both national and international levels, and offers insights and ideas from a research perspective to support planning and strategy.
The role requires a commitment of approximately a 1-hour meeting each month, with additional involvement in relevant events as they arise.
Candidates should have a good knowledge of archival practices and emerging technologies, experience in research or academic collaboration with GLAM institutions, and the ability to apply their expertise in workflows and practices to help shape ongoing and future plans.
This is a voluntary opportunity to make a practical difference by becoming part of a large network of practitioners and helping shape the technology and skills agenda within the archive sector in the UK and Ireland.
This is open to people not yet within the ARA network, but the successful applicant would have to become a member of ARA when joining the committee you can join here.
Please send any expressions of interest (including a CV) to sat@archives.org.uk. We look forward to hearing from you.
