ARA Announces New Professional of the Year Award
This new and exciting award will recognise early career achievements and celebrate the valuable contribution that ARA new professionals make to the record keeping professions, both at a local level within their workplace and to the wider sector.
Nominations should be made by an established professional working in the record keeping sector. It should be noted that ‘self-nominating’ is not available for this award.
The award is open to any ARA member who is a member of the Section for New Professionals that has made an outstanding contribution in the course of the year before the award (i.e., for 2017, evidence of an outstanding contribution made in 2016 and up to the spring of 2017).
“Outstanding contribution” means one (or both) of the following:
- A direct and positive influence on the workplace, either as a volunteer or a professional. Examples could include (but are not limited to) delivery of a specific project, an innovation or changes to policy and process.
- An outstanding contribution to the record keeping sector as a whole, such as (but not limited to) advocacy and activism, a sector-related project, people development or innovative academic and practical workplace research.
The nominations will be considered by a judging panel comprised of members of the ARA Board and Section for New Professionals committee members. We will announce the winner in September and present the award at the Section AGM on the 6 October 2017.
