ARA Core Training is launched
The Association’s new Core Training offer is launched today, with thefirst eight courses being announced.
The Core Training initiative, which has been developed by the ARA’s Training Officers, led by Lizzy Baker, offers a guarantee that fundamental training needed by all in the sector, will be offered at least annually in all nations and regions. The courses are also affordable: they are subsidised by the Association and they are also financially supported, in this first year, by Link 51.
‘The team from around the UK and Ireland who’ve worked so hard to put the Core Training offer have done a real service to the ARA membership and the whole of the sector,’ says Lizzy.
The eight Core Training courses are: Copyright, Audience Engagement, Data Protection, Digital Preservation, Archives and Volunteers, E-records management, Freedom of Information and New and Refurbished Archives Buildings.
Dates and venues for these courses are being added to all the time. There will be a Freedom of Information course in Cambridge on 10 July and a Data Protection course in Reading on 12 September. Go to the Core Training webpage for full information.
