Vacancy for Chair of the ARA Volunteering Group
The ARA Volunteering Group has a vacancy for a new Chair. Now is a goodtime to join the committee with the next action plan currently underdiscussion.
The ARA Volunteering Group has a vacancy for a new Chair.
The group aims to drive improvements in volunteering practice within the archive sector, to increase the number and range of volunteering opportunities and to ensure the contribution and impact of volunteering is evaluated and celebrated.
The Chair of the group liaises with the ARA Board about budget and areas of work to ensure these are aligned with the wider organisational aims. The group meets three times a year remotely and works to three-year action plans.
Previous work of the group has included developing and delivering People Management Training for managers of volunteers. The group also commissioned and implemented the recommendations of the Impact Assessment of Volunteering published in April 2018. The national Volunteering Awards are ongoing and the group is working on a Youth Volunteering Project.
The next action plan is currently under discussion, so this is a great time to contribute to the direction of volunteering and volunteer management for the next few years. For more information contact John Chambers.
