Free Online Workshop: the Resilience Indicator
23 July 1pm-2pm
The Resilience Indicator is a free tool designed to enable archive and records management professionals to quickly assess the general resilience of their service. It was commissioned by The National Archives / the Archives and Records Association to help archive and records management managers identify and advocate the needs of their services. The archive section has been based around the Accreditation Scheme structure (Organisational Health, Collections, Stakeholders) whilst the records management element has been developed specifically for this tool with a unique, comprehensive structure (Policies, Management Structure and Responsibilities, Resources, Records Systems, Stakeholders). Through a very simple scoring process the tool charts the current and future resilience as well as helping archive services to flag up possible areas of work for developing an Accreditation application. It is quick to use and suitable for services of any size. The tool was created by Elizabeth Oxborrow-Cowan (Consultant Archivist) and Chris Pickford (Archives and Records Management Consultant)
In this one hour on-line workshop Elizabeth will guide you through the indicator. The training will include:
- The background and purpose of the indicator
- How the indicator is structured and why
- How to complete the indicator
- How the results of the indicator can be used
- An opportunity to play with the indicator and ask questions
- Provide your own feedback on the indicator - this is a new tool so we are keen to know how it can be improved
The workshop will be suitable for anyone who would like to know more about what the indicator is and how to use it regardless of whether they are actually responsible for managing a service. The workshop will be interactive so will be limited to 20 places.
Participants should note that the workshop will be delivered via the Microsoft Teams platform and an invitation will be sent with a link to join the event to the email address provided by participants shortly before the event. Participants should note that we plan to record the event for sharing with ARA members via the ARA website for later access; the option to shut off your camera and/or sound is available during the event to maintain your privacy.
To book please email Lorraine Logan firstname.lastname@example.org – places are free and available on a first come first served basis; please make sure you let us know as early as possible if you are no longer able to take up your place so that it can be offered to someone else.
