    This event is part of the Preservica and ARA Practical Digital Preservation 2015
    workshops and webinars initiative.
     
     
    Target Audience:
    Practitioners: archivists, collection managers, records managers and IT managers, information governance and compliance managers.
     
    Programme aims/outcome:
    This webinar will explore how organizations are meeting the challenge of aligning records and content management systems with digital preservation in order to improve Information Governance across the full lifecycle and eliminate the risk that vital digital records are unreadable when required – due to technology and file format obsolescence.

    In addition, the webinar we will look at some specific tools for digitally preserving content from Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook email, and other leading CMS/ERMS platforms, and discuss how this can be extended to the wider information management landscape.

    • The need and benefits of aligning records management and digital preservation
    • How other organizations are meeting this challenge
    • Practical examples of automated transfer of records from Sharepoint and Outlook as well how other systems can be added

    An introduction by John Chambers, ARA Chief Executive followed by a presentation by Preservica representatives which includes experienced Digital Preservation consultants.
