Registration Scheme

As the Archives and Records Association launches its new CPD Programmethe current Registration Scheme is entering its final months.

For existing enrolled candidates who have been asked to re-submit their portfolios, the current format continues and will be supported until summer 2018. Using the current Guidelines detailed on these pages you are encouraged to complete a revised portfolio to demonstrate your learning and development since qualifying and to re-submit that portfolio for assessment before 1st April 2018. NB: Some candidates from the October 2017 assessment round have been given an extended deadline of 1st May 2018 to re-submit their portfolios.

If you are keen to demonstrate your ongoing commitment to your career in archives, records management or archive conservation, but have not had the opportunity to submit your portfolio for assessment under the current format Registration Scheme then you should consider transferring to the new ARA CPD Programme.

From autumn 2017 new candidates will be able to enrol and will start working towards the new format Registration assessment. Registration will then form part of the ARA's career-long CPD offer. New guidelines for each assessment level are being developed and will be found under the CPD section of the ARA website.

Details of the new CPD programme can be found here.

Please note:

The following guidelines refer to the current format Registration scheme only and remain valid for portfolios submitted up to and including October 2017 and re-submitted before 1st May 2018.
