What can the BRG do for you?

The BRG's training officers are committed to ensuring that the training we deliver meets the needs of our members.  If you can spare a few moments, Mariam and Amanda would be very pleased to hear your thoughts on what training the BRG should be providing.

In recent years, we have delivered sessions on a number of areas including business archives appraisal, legislation and promotion.  If you would like to see any of these sessions re-run, or have any ideas for additional training sessions, please do get in touch with Mariam and Amanda.  Equally, if you have experience in a particular area that you feel would be of relevance to BRG members and are willing to run a session or present a case study, they would love to hear from you.

BRG and BAC training day for Archives and Records Management students

We are currently working with the Business Archives Council to deliver a one day training session on business archives for students on Archives and Records Management courses.  The programme for the training, which will be held at the end of January 2009, will be posted as soon as it is finalised.

Business Archives and the Community: AGBM Training Event

On 11th June 2008, the Business Records Group AGBM and training event will be held at The Newsroom, Guardian and Observer Archive and Visitor Centre in London. This training event will explore the ways in which business archives can engage with communities and raise their profile amongst non-traditional users of business records. A programme for this event and registration form is attached as a word document below.

Managing Business Archives: A Global Perspective

A summary of proceedings at a joint conference of the Business Archives Council; Business Archives Council Scotland; Business Records Group of Society of Archivists; and Section on Business and Labour Archives of the International Council on Archives, on Managing Business Archives, which took place on 17th November, is now available to download as an attachment, below.

Appraising Business Records: AGBM Training Event

On Tuesday 12th June 2007, the Business Records Group AGBM and training event was held at The Phoenix Centre, Phoenix Place, London. Minutes and reports are attached as word documents below.
