Aims and Objectives
Aims
- To be the professional body of choice for archivists and records managers working with business records.
- To provide a focused and informed group to represent the interests of business records within the Society.
- To act as a forum for advice, support and the promotion of best practice in the field of business records for individual members and the Society as a whole.
Objectives
- To represent the views of archivists and records managers in all sectors working with business records.
- To have an input into policy and decision making relating to business records.
- To provide advice and comment on the Society's behalf on issues relating to business records.
- To provide a forum for discussion and support.
- To strive to promote best practice.
- To ensure that national and international standards and initiatives take account of the specialist needs of business records.
- To liaise with the Society's Training Officer and other relevant bodies to provide training in the area of business records.
- To liaise and develop joint initiatives with the Business Archives Council.
- To encourage and facilitate the teaching of business records in the archival training schools.
