Discounts on CILIP courses
CILIP have agreed to offer Members of the Society of Archivists their discounted rate on all CILIP Training & Development courses. This means that Society members will receive the same discount as the CILIP.
When booking use the standard booking form and mark on it that you are a member of the Society of Archivists, along with your membership number.
Archive Sector Proposals
Discussions about a possible merger between the Society of Archivists, the National Council on Archives and the Association of Chief Archivists in Local Government have reached the point of discussing various legal and financial details. The latest stakeholders briefing can be downloaded here.
Discount on Open University courses
The Society of Archivists is delighted to announce an agreement with the Open University to provide access to their online learning and development courses for members. In working with the OU, the Society is able to offer all members a 10% discount on all these courses.
Successful completion of any of these courses can be counted towards your CPD requirements for the year. The courses are designed for busy professionals and feature the distinctive strengths of the OU from its years of expertise in work-based and on-line quality learning delivery.
Each flexible online course from the portfolio of over 60 conveniently divided into 1-2 hour chunks of learning around your chosen subject, can be started, studied and completed when and where it suits you to provide structured and evidenced professional development.
Affordably priced under £450 which represents a competitive rate of £15 per hour, they build over several months to give up to 30 hours of professional skills development linked directly to your work and professional practice. Each course provides support and personal feedback from expert learning advisors and on successful completion you are awarded an Open University Certificate which you can use in your C.V. and to underpin your CPD portfolio.
