Aims and Objectives

South East Region Annual Aims and Objectives, 2006/2007
 
Aims:

To support and develop the skills of members of the Society in the region and act as a forum for the exchange of views and information between members of the Society and its officers/ Council.
 
To work in consultation and partnership with MLA South East
 
Objectives:

1. To increase membership of the region and attendance at meetings by:
a) encouraging conservators and records managers to participate in meetings, and
b) encouraging new members to become involved in regional activities
 
2. To seek new venues for meetings
 
3. To promote the professional development of members by offering at least one training day per annum and including a training element in regional meetings where possible.
 
4. To continue building up the web site and promote a newsletter for the region to act as effective sources of information, particularly for those unable to attend meetings
 
Targets:

1. To hold four regional meetings annually, one of which will be the AGM, throughout the region
 
2. To hold at least one of the new meetings at a new venue
 
3. To initiate cross sectoral and cross domain co-operation with other relevant professional bodies, particularly museum, library and records professionals

4. To produce a newsletter annually
