Conference 2009: Blog & Twitter

The Society's annual conference 2009 was held in the historic city of Bristol. For 2009, our whole approach to the Society‘s conference was refreshed, so that conference first-timers and seasoned conference-goers alike would find something new to interest them and stimulate professional debate.

Taking our theme of preservation and access in a digital world, we presented a packed twin track programme for archivists and records managers, and conservation professionals. The keynote speaker was Andrew Motion, poet laureate and Chairman of the MLA. The gala dinner was held in the magnificent Roman Baths and Pump Rooms in the beautiful City of Bath.

In response to feedback from delegates, and in a break with tradition, held the conference at the four star Bristol Mariott City Centre Hotel which offered delegates the convenience of a premier city centre location, together with first class conference and banqueting facilities, and excellent accommodation and leisure facilities.

Speaker biographies and abstracts of their presentations can be viewed by using either of the links in the left hand column.
