The work of the Training Officers Sub-Committee

To co-ordinate the work of the Training Officers of the Society's regions and special interest groups
To identify the training needs of members and plan training across the regions and special interest groups
To liaise with other committees of the Society as appropriate
To exchange and develop ideas for training between regions and special interest groups, and to provide support for each other
To report to and bring recommendations to the Education, Training and Development Committee and raise relevant matters with the regions and groups

To continue to provide a training and development programme that meets the needs of the membership, as well as that of the wider archive community
To ensure TOSC has contact with all training officers and receives reports from them
For each region and group with a training officer to organise at least one training course during 2009
To update and keep current the TOSC areas of the SoA website
To publicise the work of the Training Officers and TOSC
To develop an index of possible speakers based on the programmes of courses run over the previous 3 years
To keep the Training Guidelines updated and to ensure all Training Officers have access to an up-to-date copy
To organise and practical training for the Training Officers that will assist them in organising training courses
To create a hand-over pack to ensure smooth transitions between regional and group training officers
To work with the Education, Training and Development Committee on the implementation of the strategic plan and the development of centralised training courses
