  • Summer Seminar 2013

    This years Summer Seminar will be in Edinburgh at the National Records of Scotland on the 21st June. The date is earlier this year so that we don't coincide with the Edinburgh Festival events throughout August. We have an interactive networking session, two presentations and a panel discussion on application forms and interview techniques. You can see full details of the timetable here. We shall be announcing details of how to register from next week. Please check back then.

  • Summer Seminar 2012

    The ARA Section for New Professionals is holding its second Summer Seminar training event on Friday 17th August 2012 in Manchester. The event is free and open to anyone at the beginning of a career in archives, records management or conservation. We've got an exciting programme of discussion and talks this year, including:

    - Talks on born digital records and cataloguing in a digital age

    -A tour and demonstrations at the North West Film Archive

    -A panel of recruiters from across the sector advising on how to apply for project based roles

    -A discussion on the current state of the archives and records sector that will be fed back to the ARA Conference 2012

  • Archive Trainees Group

    The next meeting of the Archive Trainees Group will be on 29 Jun, at 2.30pm. It's going to be held at the National Theatre archive in London, there'll be a talk by the National Theatre archivist and a tour of their archives as well as a careers advice talk by a rep from Sue Hill, a presentation by the Section for New Professionals and one of the trainees will share their experiences.
