Mischa, Certainly having some archive experience can help you, but its not a prerequisite, some of our staff came direct from uni, others from industry, so there's no hard and fast rule. PRONI do sometimes advertise for temporary roles with agencies and there were a couple last year I believe. The PG Diploma is acceptable as this is the industry standard at the moment. There is talk of the full MSc becoming the industry standard for new entrants into the profession, but I don't believe that has happened yet. Regards, Bethany
Catherine,
There was a training event in October 2012 in which some of the issues which you raised were covered. If you email trainingofficersoai@gmail.com they might have some notes/hand outs.
