International ProjectsEndangered Archives ProgrammeNeglect, physical deterioration and even purposeful destruction have placed archival material around the world in great danger. The Endangered Archives Programme was created in 2004 to help counter these threats and safeguard the world's documentary heritage. The Programme offers grants every year to researchers to identify and preserve culturally important archives from pre-industrial societies. 'Archives' may embrace rare printed sources, manuscripts, photographs, posters and audio or video recordings. Further information may be found on the webpages www.bl.uk/endangeredarchives.
