TownsWeb Archiving (TWA) has launched a new Digitisation Grant fund, offering grants of up to £4,000 to support UK archives looking to digitise their collections.

The TWA Digitisation Grant opened for applications at the beginning of August 2016 and welcomes applications from public, private, voluntary sector and business archives based in the UK.

Applications will be assessed and the winners selected by a panel of judges from the heritage sector, including: ARA Chief Executive - John Chambers; Heritage Lottery fund (HLF) appointed special advisor - Claire Adler; and senior digitisation consultant at TownsWeb Archiving - Paul Sugden.

The Grant can be used to digitise bound books, manuscripts, oversize maps and plans, 35mm slides, microfilm/fiche, glass plate negatives, and other two-dimensional cultural heritage media. 

The deadline for applications is 31st August 2016.
