Keeping an Eye on Brexit
A number of members have been asking what the impact of last week’s referendumvote will be
A number of members have been asking what the impact of last week’s referendum vote will be on the work of the ARA and the support and services we provide for our diverse membership – across the countries of the UK as well as in Ireland.
In the short-term, as many others have said, the picture is still unclear and the UK as a whole is only just beginning to understand the implications of the decision made last week. We will continue to engage with the EU and EU-related issues (such as data protection and other regulations/legislation), not least because members in our Ireland region will remain within the EU. In the UK, it is far too early to tell what impact the referendum result will have on our work but we will monitor the situation closely as negotiations begin to implement the separation of the UK later in the year. If, at any time, you or other members/officers feel that a Brexit-related issue is impacting on your work or the sector more broadly, please do give us feedback.
