Special rates for day delegates at ARA Conference
If you can’t make the whole of this year’s Archives and Records AssociationAnnual Conference in Cardiff why not try to attend just one of thedays?
Caroline Brown of the Conference Committee says: 'Special rates are available for day delegates and the conference venue is in central Cardiff, well placed for easy access by train or bus. Each day has a range of sessions all relating to the theme Accountability, Culture and Ethics. The following are some examples of topics covered each day:
'Wednesday - the Hillsborough enquiry and the importance of records; preservation planning; records and rights; partnerships; the cultural importance of archives; disaster planning; and the role of ARA
'Thursday - records and justice; digital recordkeeping; ethics; the business sector; conserving photographs; descriptive standards; diversity; participatory approaches to archives; cleaning and re-housing; and archives and education
'Friday - archives and identities; time capsules; balancing responsibilities of recordkeepers; preserving books and book furniture; digital preservation; and working with communities
