New Faces and New Roles at ARA
'Strong Council' ready for year ahead
The ARA has a new President, Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer following the AGM held in Edinburgh on 1 September. The AGM included elections of two Council members; as all ARA Council members began at the time of the merger last year, two members stood for re-election. Laura Cotton and Geoff Pick were both re-elected.
Caroline Williams is our new President; ARC October issue will feature Caroline’s thoughts on the role.
Martin Taylor, previously Vice-Chair of the Association, is now Chair with Gordon Reid as Vice-Chair. Our new Treasurer is Sylvia James. Joanne Fitton remains Secretary.
Other ARA Council members are: Jessamy Carlson, Sam Collenette, Laura Cotton, Shirley Jones, Andrew Nicoll, Geoff Pick, Catherine Taylor and Janice Tullock. READ MORE ABOUT ALL COUNCIL MEMBERS (Link)
The Board will be deciding Council members’ new portfolios shortly. Martin says: ‘I’m proud to be leading such a strong Council. Our business plan for the next period is well-advanced and, after a successful merger year, we can now take our membership services and advocacy to a new level.’
