Reflective consideration has been part of the Performance Assessment/Review systems at each of the places I've worked as an archivist, and as part of the training process with my current employer (we have to reflect on the training we've received, say what we think we've learned and how we're going to apply it practically in our jobs when we feed back to our HR department). CPD isn't just about going on a course, it's about learning on the job, from your colleagues, through your successes and mistakes, and reflective consideration is a good way to consolidate the knowledge and experience you gain.
