SoA Pilot CPD SchemeThe Society of Archivists is committed to supporting the professional development of its members throughout their careers and is running a pilot continuing professional development (CPD) scheme throughout 2006. The SoA CPD Scheme is aimed at all members of the Society except those involved in the SoA Registration Scheme - the Schemes are designed to be complementary. The SoA CPD Scheme launched on 1 January 2006 and will initially run for twelve months. During this time volunteer participants will plan, record and reflect on their development with support and assistance from the Society, including tailor-made feedback from peer reviewers. Participants' experiences of the SoA CPD Scheme will inform future development and direction of CPD opportunities and support provided by the Society. Participants can join the SoA CPD Scheme at any point during 2006. The Society is seeking the widest range of members, at different stages in their careers to get involved. As a volunteer participant you may be newly registered, 5, 10 or 30 years into your career or not eligible for the Registration Scheme. As a peer reviewer you will be an experienced archive professional wiling to be trained to give individual feedback on CPD activities and planning.
