I have been a member of the Section for Records Management and Information Governance's executive committee since late 2012 and in 2014 became the Website Officer. I am also currently leading the working group for the Don't Risk It! Know Your Records campaign to promote records management advocacy.

I started with a Philosophy degree which I completed in 2006, followed by an MA in Archive and Records Management at UCL in 2010-2011. I began working as Assistant Records Manager at the Bank of England in October 2011, which is where I am now.

I am particularly interested in metadata, its value and potential.

If you have any suggestions about what we can do to improve the Section's pages or anything about the campaign please do not hesitate to get in touch.

I joined Essex County Council in September 2015 as Marketing Manager for the Essex Record Office in Chelmsford.  My background is very much from the commercial environment but across a number of industry sectors.

The Essex Record Office holds nearly 1,000 years of Essex history.  In fact the oldest document we hold dates back to 962.  It is an Anglo-Saxon charter from the reign of King Edgar.  You can read all about it in our collections blog here http://bit.ly/2atXfAo .

My role is to commercially market the services offered by the Record Office.  These services include; archive services to other organisations, online genealogy subscription service, digitisation (documents, photos, audio / video recordings), sound and video, oral history training, conservation, and conference centre (we are even licenced for weddings!).

I am looking forward to getting involved with the Record Management and Information Governance committee and to meeting many members over the coming months.
